Data Module Mercantiles

Intro

What is it?

Our module of legal and corporate registry data for all companies in the country.

What data does it include?

It captures, in a structured way, all data on company interactions with the Commercial Registry and the Tax Agency.

From incorporation (registration date, corporate purpose, registered address, etc.), through day-to-day filings (annual accounts, name changes, shareholder changes, administrative sanctions, etc.), all the way to closure (insolvency proceedings, dissolutions, bankruptcies, etc.).

What is it for?

This is the foundational dataset on which to start building your sales team’s business intelligence. That’s because we link the rest of our datasets to the company Tax ID (NIF), so you can uniquely identify every company that is hiring, signing a new cloud vendor, receiving public subsidies, and more.

Most customers come to us when their current corporate registry database starts to feel too small and they want to do more sophisticated data work to fuel sales.

The first thing we do is make sure their corporate registry database is up to date. We often find sales teams wasting time because their corporate registry data is wrong.

And if the cornerstone is wrong, everything else breaks.

We’ve seen customers selling 5- and 6-figure annual products, yet half of their “company” database was actually sole traders. Their sales team struggled to close deals because half their calls were—without realising it—to individuals without that purchasing power.

It’s also common to find databases so outdated that a significant share of records are already-closed companies.

Or the classic data team proud of its coverage, until they realise their market has 10× more companies than they thought—and they were unknowingly limiting commercial expansion.

For all of that (and much more), starting from a high-quality corporate registry base is absolutely, absolutely essential.
